Long weekend

Alright, it wasn't that it was long, per se, so much as there were two nights of staying up late and watching the Venture Brothers with Kai and Allen.  Up until 2 am Friday and Saturday night.  And while I would love to say there was a ton of drinking - the fact is we all kind of took it easy.

We tried to catch the Flugtag on Saturday which was going on in Camden but it was too far away plus there was a big ship in our way.  We weren't (or at least I wasn't) keen on heading over to Camden so we went back into Olde City and hit Sugar's (formerly Sugar Mom's) and reminisced about Lou's puking there last year.

Then it was back to the Apartment for more Venture Brothers.  Got some pizzas.  Went out for a walk so we weren't too comatose too early from all the carbs.

We managed to get some scrapple on Sunday morning.  Then more Venture Brothers (we completed two seasons) and then it was time for the guys to split.

Fell asleep on the couch near 6 pm and decided that instead of dozing I should make it official.  I set an alarm so I would get up again but dutifully ignored it.  Up at 2:30 am this morning and tried to get some more sleep but it was fitful at best.

  1. Heh. As far as the not drinking a lot, I'm not entirely surprised, while I had other stuff going on last weekend... one of the bits that kept me from coming down was a need to give my liver a rest after a solid two weeks of drinking.

Needed to let the tolerance reset a bit.

  2. Yeah, I took the previous weekend off when I had my daughters but I still wasn't in the mood to try to keep the Con pace.

Considering we had half a bottle of gin left and didn't finish the one bottle of bourbon, I think it qualified as an "easy" weekend.

Next time you have to come down. It was a blast. Very funny show.

    1. I'll definitely make the next trip, this one was too close to my having been away from home for way too long, lots of things piled up for the weekend.

    2. Dragon*Con was my monthly drinking. I think my liver was a little taxed, but it's in the middle of a 3.5-week break now.
